About Us

Our prayer is that you will be blessed and strengthened by the power of Jesus, and that you will live a life of abundance in fellowship, joy and liberty. Ridgecrest Baptist Church is here for you. It is not just a church; it is a fellowship of believers coming together to declare the glory of the Lord, and to celebrate Jesus as King. We study the Word, practice what we learn, and in the process grow together. May God richly bless you! May the Lord bless you and keep you! We hope to see you soon!

Our History

Ridgecrest Baptist Church began as a mission Sunday school in 1961 at 905 Pine street in Commerce Texas. The founding members loved the experience so much that they stayed and the 1st chapel was built in 1964 at 918 Bishop St.

Walter Light would serve as the first minister of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and he would serve from 1964 to 1968 and then again from 1979 to 1984.

Although we came from humble beginnings that did not stop us from growing. In 2018, Ridgecrest Baptist church had grown so much that a new building was built at 711 Culver Street. In this new building we plan to continue bringing the word of Christ to the entire community of Commerce.

Live By Faith

Glorify God

The Holy Bible was written by divinely inspired men, and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its content. Therefore, all Scripture is completely true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

God is our Creator and Redeemer

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal being; the creator, redeemer, preserver, and ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all-powerful and all-knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Praise God!!!

Salvation

Repentance is turning from sin to God.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ, and commitment to Him as Lord and Savior. These bring the believer into a a relationship of peace and favor with God.
